Today we're doing a QUICK natural hair protective style, the Jumbo Box Braids, installed using the "Rubber Band Method." I'll be showing you how I do this method in a GENTLE way, using safer materials to prevent my hair from breaking. I hope you enjoy! XO! Nap EDIT: I used 3 packs of hair for this look!! π

Can I do this on short natural hair?
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
Installed these yesterday and I want to say THANK YOU because I have no plans to go to my braider in the midst of a pandemic. My only negative comment would be that those Proclaim rubber bands are not sturdy. And if they pop after installation, they kinda stick out and look kind of weird. Other than that, I am so freaking happy, this will be my go to protective style for summer/fall/winter…I'm obsessed lol.

Using a good edge control before snatching your hair to tie in elastic bands will make your parts look neater and makes my braids feel more secure….I finally did this last night and my hair looks so much better than usual. Great video, thank you!

Have you thought of putting bands in the other hair and then band in to your natural hair. I tried this didn't work for me so I got this Idea π.. it's the same thing but another way..

Canβt wait to try this! However Iβm going to do it with yarn. I have eczema and sensitive skin, fake hair makes my scalp itch and feel like fire. I envy those that can use it because sometimes it looks better than yarn. But yarn is inexpensive and looks beautiful too. Thanks for the video Whitney

Your curl pattern is amazing π

Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
First of all… thank you for the tip of using the clear rubber bands! I gave you a shout out in my tutorial on short box braids!
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
Did this and it changed my life and my my bank balance. π
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
Love this. I dont need my braids to last for months. I like mine loose, where it's really a protective style.
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
My 10 yr old daughter learned how to braid like this by watching these videos now she braids mine and im so excited because i have an inhouse braider ππ
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
Now THIS I can do… I think. How many packs did you use & how long did it take? I particularly like that it looks a little less stressful on your own hair & it's easy enough to take out to wash & condition regularly.

Great idea for a protective style….winter is coming! Thanks girl. Xoxo
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
How many braids are there in the top section?
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
If youβre scared of using rubber bands for your box braids, you can let them sit in a bowl of your favorite oil while youβre braiding your hair. This will reduce the friction of the rubber bands, as well as nourish your scalp

Finally, a hair tutorial that does hair the way I think, practical. You will be the reason these braids get installed in my daughter's hair tonight. Thank you. Mom/Student/Short-on-time/Three Daughters. Thanks!!!
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
How many times did you cut the hair?(the braiding hair )
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
First: I thought I was the only one who felt the Camille Rose Natural twisting butter left my hair greasy. I thought maybe I had used too much. Second: I have jumbo box braids installed and I had the black rubber bands used and I am legit scared of what my follicles will look like when I take them down. I see so many white bulbs around the rubber band meaning those hairs came from the root. But ima pray and hope for the best ππ€πΎ
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
I fr thought you were 18-19 lol and Iβm sure that the reason the sections are not as tight is because of the oil you put in it so there is a lil but more slip than usual so itβs better to oil your scalp after braiding when itβs tighter
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
Ty so much for this video I was so tired of people pulling my hair to tight in braids, now I can do them my self I will def try this
Oktober 6, 2020 @ 6:43 pm
